Things To Consider When Choosing A Domain Name
- Brainstorm your top 5 keywords – choose keywords that are relevant to your business
- Choose a unique name – don’t confuse your audience with another site
- Choose .com addresses first – .com sites receive more traffic than .net or .org sites
- Choose a name that is easy to type – this will ensure that your site will be found easier and faster
- Choose a name that is easy to remember – you want people to talk about your site, and in doing so, pass the name along to others
- Keep it short – long domain names are harder to type out, and people are bound to leave out a letter or two in the process
- Don’t make people guess what you do – choose a name that is relevant to your business
- Avoid copyright infringement – make sure you’re not breaking any copyright rules in your domain name
- Avoid hyphens and numbers – this will make your domain hard to remember, and also hard to verbalize
